Teachers who have participated in our programs find the experience both valuable and rewarding. Read on to hear what our teachers have to say:
“I will definitely apply for the partnership in the future.  My students look forward to the science activities and I enjoy collaborating with someone in the classroom.” Teacher, Kingsford-Smith Elementary, Teacher Partnership Program
“My volunteer really had to do a lot of planning and preparation to make this happen. The students really liked the part where they could go from station to station and examine different fish. I like the way she was also quite flexible when I had an idea for a closing activity.” Teacher, Queen Mary, Teacher Partnership Program
“ My volunteers were so well prepared and it was most apparent that they both are so enthusiastic and knowledgeable about Stars. They discussed the concepts in such a "kid friendly" and entertaining way.  The demonstration was quoted as being "awesome" and "totally cool" and we were so impressed with the materials they brought.  The lesson was so well planned and timed for the grade 2/3 split. We appreciate their hard work on their Power Point presentation and the wonderful selection of video clips and photos that it included.” Teacher, McKechnie Elementary School, Teacher Partnership Program
“This is a great program and I would definitely participate again.  Our volunteer’s presentation was well suited to the students.  She asked many questions to feel out the level of knowledge and provided appropriate and engaging activities.  The children were interested, excited and very receptive to her.” Teacher, Bayview Elementary, Brain Awareness
“I wanted to let you know how much my class and I enjoyed the presentation on the brain. It was a great mix of fun and knowledge, listening and participating.  I learned a lot too.  It was nice for the kids to see that scientists can be young people, and not just old guys in lab coats.  The volunteers really interacted well with the children, and they left me with some great materials, as well.  They were great ambassadors for science and for UBC.  Thank you for providing this excellent opportunity to my class.   I hope I get the same chance next year.”  Grade 4 Teacher, Sir William Osler Elementary, Brain Awareness
