UBC Let's Talk Science strives to improve science, technology, engineering and mathematics literacy through the outreach efforts of members of the research community at the University of British Columbia. Our volunteers work with youth from elementary and secondary schools to ignite science excitement and share their knowledge with eager young minds.
VOLUNTEERS WANTED TO HOST WORKSHOPS
Let's Talk Science is hosting a full day high school symposium on Friday, May 27th, 2016, and this year's theme is BIOENGINEERING!
The symposium will bring together over 100 grade 10-12 students with a mission to promote and draw interest to the exciting and rapidly advancing applications in fields ranging from tissue implants and prosthetics to genetic engineering.
We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to host workshops throughout the day - if you are interested in sharing your knowledge on a related topic and working with eager high school learners, we would love to get you involved!
DATE: Friday, May 27th, 2016
AUDIENCE: 25-30 grade 10-12 students per workshop
TIME COMMITMENT: Morning and/or afternoon; each workshop will be around 1 hour long
