Inspiring Discovery
UBC Let's Talk Science strives to improve science, technology, engineering and mathematics literacy through the outreach efforts of members of the research community at the University of British Columbia. Our volunteers work with youth from elementary and secondary schools to ignite science excitement and share their knowledge with eager young minds.
StemCellTalks
StemCellTalks is an outreach initiative established to facilitate knowledge transfer between academia and high school students pertaining to the science and practical ethics of stem cells. We want to improve the public’s understanding of basic stem cell science in combination with facilitating the development of ethical frameworks in which to address practical ethics, and to independently contemplate contemporary bioethical issues in a field characterized by rapid scientific advancement. StemCellTalks is a one-day symposium for senior high school students. Visit the Vancouver StemCellTalks website for more information.
