Inspiring Discovery
UBC Let's Talk Science strives to improve science, technology, engineering and mathematics literacy through the outreach efforts of members of the research community at the University of British Columbia. Our volunteers work with youth from elementary and secondary schools to ignite science excitement and share their knowledge with eager young minds.
All Science Challenge
The All Science Challenge is an annual event that brings elementary school students from all over Vancouver and surrounding areas to UBC for a day of fun competition and challenges. Prior to the event, groups of students study science content from a manual developed by Let's Talk Science in order to prepare for the day. Teams are pitted against each other in a friendly quiz-style showdown, and must answer questions about biology, chemistry, physics, math and engineering. Students also take part in various challenge activities, solve hand-on genetic mysteries and take tours of UBC labs and museums.
